Henschke’s Hill of Grace is easily Australia’s most sought after single vineyard wine, and rivals Penfolds Grange for the title of the country’s greatest ever wine. The vineyard was established at Parrot Hill in the Eden Valley (around 1860) by Nicolaus Stanitzki and has since been handed down through the generations to the Henschke family.Although first produced in 1958, it took nearly 30 years before the Hill of Grace Shiraz became truly famous, an effort recognised to be connected to the hard work and dedication of Stephen and Prue Henschke.

2017 Hill of Grace is a wine that will unfold in your glass, revealing pristine layers, bright and vital. Savour it at the pace of the vintage, to truly experience the story that lies within.

Every vintage from the ancient, single-vineyard Hill of Grace is a limited release, however some are more limited than others. There was no Hill of Grace made in 1960, 1974 and 2000. Just one barrel was produced in 2003; no vintage in 2011, and extremely tiny vintages for 2013 and 2014, 2019 and 2020. I can’t think of another single-vineyard wine that had its first vintage from centenarian vines and has continued to be made for another 64 years. - Stephen Henschke

Grace by name, grace by nature; it's a perfectly framed, elegant snapshot of pristine fruit, site and season. Precisely ripened berry fruits are underscored with notes of Chinese five-spice, sage, jasmine, licorice, mocha, blackberry pastille, charcuterie, wild flowers and cherry clafoutis. Pitch-perfect and elegant on the palate, the tannin-acid architecture tuned and sympatico with the pristine ancestor-vine fruit and a very long, silken finish that resonates with style and place. My goodness it's lovely. - Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion, 99 Points 5 April 2022

Henschke Hill of Grace Shiraz 2017 vintage was matured in 29% new and 71% seasoned (83% French, 17% American) oak hogsheads for 18 months prior to blending and bottling. In the correct conditions, this wine could be cellared for 35+ years from vintage
