Product Description:
Vibrant, finely structured and unmistakably Tasmanian. The 42 Degrees South Pinot Noir is crafted by Frogmore Creek, a benchmark cool-climate producer in the Coal River Valley. Named for Tasmania’s latitude, the label represents wines defined by the island’s long sunlight hours, maritime influence and naturally low yields. The season offered a classic cool-climate pattern made up of mild days, crisp nights and a long ripening window that preserved aromatic purity and natural balance.
Fruit was sourced from select sites across Tasmania, hand-harvested and given a 48-hour cold soak before open fermentation with regular hand-plunging. The wine completed primary ferment in stainless steel, then spent ten months in French oak barriques (20% new) for subtle structure and integration. The result is a medium-bodied Pinot Noir that balances bright cherry and red berry fruit with fine tannins and a clean, lingering finish, a poised expression of Tasmania’s cool-climate elegance.
