Brokenwood are an icon of the Australian wine scene and arguably the greatest producer the Hunter Valley has ever seen. As they grew vineyards through Victoria & South Australia were acquired. 

Brokenwood have long been exponents of multi-regional blends. The McLaren Vale fruit makes up almost half of this wine. A dry lead up the 2018 harvest in McLaren Vale through spring and over the 17/18 summer, resulted in lower crops and earlier ripening. Things really sped up with the heat during February. Both Beechworth and the Hunter Valley experienced stress free vintages. An outstanding Shiraz vintage and in bottle at 14% alcohol, a wine with wonderful ripe fruit characters and rich in flavour.

This wine comes from 46% McLaren Vale SA, 33% Beechworth VICm and 21% Hunter Valley NSW. A perfect mid-density colour with purple tints. Dark fruit aromas of plum and dark cherry. Dusty hints and vanillin oak compliment the berry fruit flavours. Fine, ripe tannin with hints of charry French oak and lovely acidity carry through to a clean, long finish
