This timeless classic, produced in the 1970s establish Wallcliffe vineyard in Margret River, allows both the semillon and sauvignon blanc to find a rare but complementary expression. For the Cape Mentelle Wallcliffe Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2015 vintage, the winemaking approach relied on selecting their most exception fruit and is mainly hands-off to showcase the terroir. Some light handling is support by their choice of French oak. 

This wine is a light hay colour with bright green edges. The nose has a powerful aromatic profile. Boasting hints of custard tart, fresh green apple, fromage blanc, and a slight touch of smoke. Lemon sorbet, cassis bud, and juniper come from the sauvignon blanc, then complemented by meyer lemon and pepperiness of the semillon. The finish is of gunsmoke, vanilla bean, and caramel cream finish. The palate follows the same scents from the nose with lemon sherbet and mineral elements reminiscent of gunsmoke and sharpened steel. Round, rich, and good weight followed by an elegant acid backbone.
