About this bottle
Cascina Ghercina Barolo 2018 nose hints of flowers, licorice, herbs and oak. On the palate medium to full-bodied with tight tannins and medium acidity. Showing blackberries, prunes and tobacco. Nice long aftertaste.
Ethereal and precious, here’s the Barolo D.O.C.G., a noble wine appreciated all over the world for its uniqueness and its close link with the eleven villages where the production is allowed. His notes of ripe red fruits and licorice resonate in the glass as a symphony, enveloping and warm, soft and elegant. If aged in the cellar a few more years, or if poured and left some minutes in a glass, it continues its evolution and at each sip it is a new discovery, a new emotion.
Cascina Ghercina wines are the offspring of Piedmont and in particular Langhe, historical places suited to vines. They are in fact in Novello, on the border with the town of Barolo, and “Ghercina” is the name of the lake that dominates the center of the estate, surrounded by the vineyards.
