Craggy Range is a family owned winery established in 1997, and situated in the shadow of the spectacular Te Mata Peak in the premium wine growing area of Hawke’s Bay New Zealand.

Craggy Range produces a collection of iconic wines from grapes grown on exceptional estates in Hawke’s Bay, Martinborough, and Marlborough, with an unrelenting focus on quality. From the stony, warm soils of the Gimblett Gravels in Hawke's Bay to the volcanic, clay soils of Te Muna Road in Martinborough, these exceptional vineyards produce wines with amazing aromatics, purity and complexity.

The Te Muna Road Pinot Noir was produced using 70% destemmed, 30% whole bunch and fermented in open top stainless steel tanks and french oak cuves. Deep burgundy in colour with a crimson hue. A plethora of brambled fruits and porcini mushrooms lead the bouquet. With an exciting and vibrant palate, a red-fruited core wraps the velvet tannin with an undeniable depth of flavour—a long road ahead for this wine that will reward with age. This wine pairs exceptionally well with pan seared and roasted duck leg, fresh pasta and sauteed mushroom risotto and cna be enjoyed now or cellared for 2-10 years from vintage.

Ripe strawberry, orange peel, and meat with some earth on the nose. Full-bodied with a pure and solid core of ripe strawberry fruit. Fine, velvety tannins. Layered and beautiful. Drink or hold. - James Suckling, 94 Points.
