Elegant, approachable and fruit-driven, Glenmorangie The Original 12 Year Old is the reimagined signature single malt from one of Scotland’s best-known Highland distilleries. Replacing the former 10 Year Old expression, The Original is now matured for a full 12 years, giving the whisky additional roundness and depth while retaining the bright, delicate character long associated with Glenmorangie. The whisky spends its entire maturation in bourbon casks, where it develops layers of vanilla, citrus and soft orchard fruit. Glenmorangie’s famously tall stills help create a light and refined new-make spirit that provides the foundation for this polished Highland style.

With two additional years of maturation compared with its predecessor, the whisky displays a creamier texture and a more developed interplay of fruit, sweetness and oak. The aroma centres on ripe peach and fresh citrus balanced by gentle vanilla, while the palate introduces further floral and creamy characteristics. As the whisky develops, notes of honey, orange and soft stone fruit provide both sweetness and freshness without overwhelming the spirit’s delicate structure. The finish offers almond, coconut and maple-like sweetness, creating a lingering yet graceful conclusion. Bottled at 40% ABV, this 1-litre presentation is particularly associated with the international travel-retail format and retains the same 12-year maturation and Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky identity.
