Kavalan Solist Pedro Ximenez Single Malt Taiwanese Whisky 750ml

In ancient times, the land around Yilan was called kavalan, a mysterious land that was solely inhabited by the indigenous people of the Kavalan clan. the name was officially recognized by the Emperor of the Chin dynasty in the year of 1809 when the original city was also built under the same name. Kavalan had always been kept primitive and protected from the outside world by the Syue-shan mountain range which is abundant in high quality natural water that comes from deep within the mountain range. The mists of Kavalan and the spirits of the past have been created in this exquisite whisky.

PX Sherry is one of the classic collection of Kavalan whisky. The new make spirit which matures in the PX sherry casks produces unique and special characters and flavours with the classic fruity, nutty and chocolate aromas that are distinctive and phenomenal! Awarded gold at the 2016 San Francisco Spirit Awards.

This whisky has a honey gold colour. There is a nice rosemary aromas with a hint of lemongrass, sweet citrus and a pleasant toffee. The finale is reminiscent of an enticing sweet oakiness. Very fruity and warm, with a nice results of the combination of classical PX sherry characters and sub-tropical maturation in the heat of Taiwan i.e. smooth and mellow. The juicy raisin and honey syrup lingers persistently in the mouth.
