Mountain Culture Scenic Route Session Hazy (4 Pack)
Mountain Culture is a popular brewery located in the beautiful Blue Mountains of New South Wales, Australia. It was established in 2019 by a group of friends who were passionate about craft beer and wanted to create a relaxed, welcoming space in which to enjoy it. The building in which Mountain Culture now resides has had a rich history. It was built in 1912 in Katoomba and, for many years, was home to the local paper, 'The Echo'. It later purportedly served as a "dancing saloon and home for lost or belated drunks" before eventually morphing into a Civic Video store. In 2017, DJ and Harriet McCready transformed the dilapidated building into the first brewpub in the Blue Mountains after 18 months of careful renovation. The goal was simple: welcoming people from all over to come in and have a beer. But not just any beer! At Mountain Culture, they hold themselves accountable to a standard that means they are constantly pushing the limit to figure out how they can brew a better beer every batch. Since the delivery of their first batch in 2019, Mountain Culture has been a mecca for beer lovers seeking the ultimate beer experience. The beautifully restored building is not only an excellent example of "inter-war free-classical" architecture but also a tangible representation of the dream to create a brewery that serves beer for the adventurous. To ensure that the beer is of the highest quality, the brewery uses a 12-hectolitre Premier stainless system customised to enable decoction mashing.
New world hops refer to a particular group of hop species that originate from regions outside of Europe. The concept of new world hops has become relevant in the brewing world over the last two decades, as brewers and enthusiasts alike seek new sources of hop flavors and aromas to add to their beers. The most popular strains of new world hops come from the United States, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. These countries tend to have warmer climates, which allow for an intense grapefruit, pine and tropical fruit notes, which are highly desired in modern craft beers. Some of the most sought-after new world hop varieties include Amarillo, Citra and Mosaic from the United States, Galaxy and Nelson Sauvin from New Zealand and Vic Secret from Australia. These hops tend to have higher alpha acid contents and a more distinct aroma and flavor profile, making them ideal for hop-forward beer styles like IPAs, Pale Ales, and NEPAs.
