Shaw + Smith Lenswood Vineyard Pinot Noir 2021

From cousins Michael Hill-Smith and Martin Shaw comes the Adelaide Hills winery Shaw + Smith. Their goal is the produce contemporary, high quality wines display outstanding examples of their varietals grown within the region. Shaw + Smith own three vineyards in the Adelaide Hills, at Balhannah, Lenswood and Piccadilly. The vineyards are planted to varieties that perform particularly well in the region, namely Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Shiraz.

A Pinot Noir of delicacy and fragrance, with fresh acid, and subtle layers of flavour and texture. Already open and expressive on the nose, with red fruit and spice. Bursting with flavour on the palate, with cherry, strawberry, and raspberry, toasted spices, and flowing through to firm but very fine tannins on the finish. Remarkable intensity for a wine so light on its feet.

Medium Crimson. Fresh strawberry pastille, raspberry, hint of chinotto aromas with underlying savoury notes. Beautifully balanced wine with strawberry pastille, raspberry, fine bittersweet tannins and some vanilla notes. Builds up al dente and juicy at the finish.
