Stéphane Usseglio Fragments Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2019
Located in the heart of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, Domaine Usseglio, is a three-generation family estate with Italian origins. In 1931, Francis Usseglio moved from Italy to France, selling in Châteauneuf-du-Pape.in 1949 he produced his first time. But it was not until 1962 that Usseglio established his own vines and the following year the domaine was taken over by his son Raymond. In 1999, at the young age of 22, the domaine then became managed by Raymond's son Stephane.
Today they produce wines using organic and biodynamic methods because it is essential for them to preserve and respect as much as possible the life and balance of their terroirs and their vines.
A whole spectrum of black fruits in the nose plus notes of sandalwood and terracotta. Deep and rich with a ton of licorice and remarkably fresh acidity on the full body for this appellation. Made in concrete eggs and clay amphoras. Long, moderately dry finish thanks to the considerable fine tannins. Drink or hold. - James Suckling, 94 Points
